In a "tough" 2020/21 report, SaskGaming reported a net loss of $13.4 million

According to SaskGaming, the fiscal year ending in 2020–21 was marked by "difficulty and hardship" and was "unlike anything experienced in 25 years of business."

Due to the pandemic, the company's Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw facilities were temporarily shuttered for almost seven months, resulting in net losses of $13.4 million, revenue of $30.9 million as opposed to $114.1 million in 2019–20, and 570 permanent employees being temporarily let off.

Don Morgan, the minister in charge of SaskGaming, stated that "not unlike other sectors in our jurisdiction, SaskGaming was seriously impacted by the epidemic." Although the company was able to generate a small $30.9 million in income when the casinos had less capacity constraints, it was not enough to cover expenditures and there were no payments made to the general revenue fund.

SaskGaming would have distributed a dividend to its shareholder, Crown Investments Corporation, during a typical fiscal year. In 2020–21, this payout was canceled due to the company's net losses.

According to Susan Flett, president and CEO of SaskGaming, "this reporting year was unlike anything SaskGaming has encountered in 25 years of business." As a result of COVID-19, "the corporation took numerous challenging but essential business decisions, including proceeding with renovations at Casino Regina in an effort to promote the local construction sector and sub-trades."
