Mohegan's joint proposal for Freedom Plaza is aimed at New York

Mohegan has partnered with Soloviev Group in support of the latter's application to operate the casino at Freedom Plaza in New York.

The New York State Gaming Commission's solicitation for proposals to build and run up to three downstate casinos is what prompted the two parties to work together.

Ray Pineault, CEO and President of Mohegan, stated, "Mohegan is recognized for the vast variety of unique experiences and great service we serve our visitors, but it is truly our culture, beliefs, and devotion to our community that set us apart as an organization.

"Our deep Mohegan legacy serves as the cornerstone for how we run our company and directs our dedication to our team members, our approach to providing guest services, and our interactions with partners and the communities in which we do business.

We are eager to introduce New York state to our guiding concept, the "Spirit of Aquai."

The first museum in the world devoted to the celebration of freedom and democracy will be unveiled at the projected Freedom Plaza.

Freedom Plaza will also benefit the community as a whole by providing a sizable green space, a performance space, a Ferris wheel, a hotel with more than 1,000 rooms, and two residential buildings that will help address the city's severe housing deficit.

Freedom Plaza is close to Grand Central Station, the 34th Street ferry, and various bus stations. It is also connected to the Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive. The development team will also look at offering more specific ferry service.

Mohegan also pointed out that Freedom Plaza will bring in millions of dollars in additional tax revenue and provide thousands of well-paying jobs during development and after it opens.

According to Stefan Soloviev, chair of Soloviev Group, "as a leader in socially responsible development, we will honor, complement, and enhance Mohegan's beliefs through sustainable and carbon-neutral property development."

In addition to guaranteeing that Freedom Plaza would be built responsibly, this strategic alliance will also provide long-term economic success to the local community, a favorable impression on regional and worldwide tourists, and a lasting influence on New York City for future generations.
